Care with no co-payment at each visit
DKV Integral Élite is the Integral modality without co-payments. Everything you use is already covered by the premium: you pay nothing at the desk for a specialist consultation, a test or a procedure. It is the only modality in the range built this way.
How Élite differs from the other Integral modalities
Integral has four modalities, and they differ only in the co-payment. The medical cover is identical across all of them.
Integral Complet — co-payment from €13.50 per consultation. Integral Plus — from €6.90. Integral Classic — from €2.30. Integral Élite — no co-payment at all.
The “from” figures refer to the minimum co-payment for primary care consultations: general practice, paediatrics, nursing. For specialists and procedures the co-payment is higher. The logic is straightforward: the lower the monthly premium, the more you pay each time you use the policy, and the other way round. DKV itself recommends the Élite modality in its product sheet for anyone who would rather not think about cost when seeing a doctor.
What is included
A network of more than 51,000 medical professionals and 1,000 centres, including 93 of the 100 best hospitals in Spain: Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Quirón, Hospitales HM and others. Going to a renowned clinic costs no extra.
Dental cover is included at no additional cost: more than 50 free treatments — unlimited cleanings, consultations, extractions, fluoride applications and the related X-rays; everything else at reduced prices. An annual general check-up in a single appointment: consultation and physical examination, blood and urine tests, ECG, vision and hearing checks (individual policy).
Hospitalisation with no limit on the number of days, except psychiatric care, capped at 60 days a year. A private room with a bed for a companion. Prostheses without limit, except cardiac and vascular ones, capped at €12,000. Physiotherapy, rehabilitation and podiatry with no session limit.
Psychotherapy: 20 sessions a year. Forty sessions for eating disorders, bullying at school, cyberbullying, work-related stress and gender or domestic violence, and for everyone under 24. From 2026 support for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD is added.
Advanced treatment includes Da Vinci robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer, the Endopredict genomic platform for breast cancer, PET/MRI in oncology, and a second medical opinion for a serious diagnosis. Travel assistance abroad for up to 180 days, capped at €30,000. Reimbursement abroad for serious illness: 80%, up to €16,000 (individual policy).
Waiting periods
Emergencies and accidents are covered from day one, with no waiting period. Six months apply to outpatient surgery in groups 0, I and II, CT and MRI scans, shockwave therapy, interventional diagnostics and psychotherapy. Eight months apply to surgery in groups III to VIII, hospitalisation, prostheses and childbirth. Twelve months apply to transplants and to HIV care.
If you are switching from another insurer, the seniority of your previous policy is recognised and no waiting periods apply. Conditions diagnosed before the switch, however, are not covered: pre-existing conditions follow the same rules as with a new policy.
Price and discounts
The policy can be taken out up to age 75 individually and up to 67 on a group contract. From the third year the cover becomes lifelong. Family discount: 3% from three insured persons, 7% from four, 12% from five. Payment-frequency discount: 7% annual, 4.6% half-yearly, 2.8% quarterly.
Who it suits, and who it does not
Élite makes sense if the policy will be used regularly: families with children, people who see specialists several times a year, and anyone who would rather not think about money at the moment of care. It is also often taken out for residency purposes — the certificate for the immigration authorities is issued as soon as the policy is signed.
If you see a doctor a couple of times a year, it is fairer to do the arithmetic: Classic, with a co-payment from €2.30 per consultation and a lower premium, may work out cheaper over the year. We calculate both options before you sign, not after.
This is one of the modalities of the DKV Integral range — all of them are compared there.
