The same as A terceros, plus glass
Motor GO! Lunas is the basic modality with one addition: glass cover. Everything else — civil liability, legal defence, roadside assistance, driver accident cover, the licence points course, the garage network — works the same way.
Why glass deserves a modality of its own
Because it is the most frequent small claim, and the most galling. A stone thrown up by a lorry on the motorway, and a crack right across the windscreen. Replacing the glass on an ordinary car costs several hundred euros; on one with sensors and heating, considerably more.
And it has nothing to do with how you drive: it does not depend on you at all. That is why many take Lunas rather than bare A terceros — the price difference is small and the likelihood is high.
Both repair and replacement are covered, for the windscreen and the other glazing.
What is still missing
Not covered: theft, fire, hail and animals, and damage to your own car caused by you. If the car is stolen or you dent a wing in the car park, this modality will not help.
Who it suits
Anyone doing a lot of motorway miles — that is where the stones fly. Anyone with a large windscreen, rain sensors, cameras or heated glass: replacing that costs disproportionately more.
And as a sensible middle ground for a mid-aged car that is no longer worth insuring fully, yet feels wrong to leave with nothing.
Where the policy applies
The territorial scope is not the same for every guarantee, and it is worth knowing before driving abroad.
Civil liability, legal defence, driver accident cover, glass, theft, own damage, total loss, fire, weather and animals apply across the European Economic Area and the states party to the international insurance guarantee conventions. The list appears on the International Insurance Certificate issued by the company.
Roadside assistance splits in two: for risks to the vehicle, Spain, the rest of Europe and the countries bordering the Mediterranean; for risks to people during a journey, worldwide.
Note this carefully. The legal protection within the defence guarantee is limited to events and proceedings in Spain. The licence-points allowance covers only penalties imposed in Spain. So an accident in France is covered, but this guarantee will not run a case before a French court.
What the policy never covers
Damage caused intentionally. Extraordinary risks, which are covered by the state Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros rather than the insurer.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or of drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances: exceeding the legal blood and breath alcohol limits removes cover. The exclusion does not affect the owner where the driver is their employee and is not a habitual alcoholic or addict.
Driving by an unauthorised person, without a licence, or with a licence withdrawn or cancelled. Driving schools are an exception: a student at the wheel is covered when accompanied by, or under the supervision of, a legally authorised instructor.
Cases where the driver is convicted of failing to render assistance. Theft or improper use of the vehicle. And traffic offences where the offence itself was the determining cause of the accident.
Separately: races, competitions and preparatory trials, and incidents inside port and airport precincts for vehicles that habitually operate there, are excluded unless otherwise agreed.
Typical tasks that this policy solves
Agent's opinion Lunas is the cheapest upgrade in the whole range. The gap from A terceros is usually small, and it covers the claim that happens more often than all the others put together.
I recommend it especially to people doing a lot of motorway miles and to owners of modern windscreens: rain sensors, cameras, sometimes heating — replacing one costs so much that the annual difference in premium is recovered by a single claim.
But I always remind them: theft and fire are still not covered. If the car sleeps on the street, better to look at Ampliado.
